Home Up Worship News Prayer Meetings From the Pastor Who Are We? Building Progress Connecting Feedback

It's the holidays, but did you know that the word originated from "Holy Days?"  That alone should suggest to us, the faithful and the not-so-certain, that the season is something different.

Maybe the question for the season is, "What will we chose as the ethos that makes this holy?"  You can guess where my heart is.  It is the preeminent source of all that is, was, and is yet to be: God; that ethereal entity that our souls gravitate towards, but of which we seem for ever separated.

The wonder of Christmas, that which makes it a holy day, is that for once in history that ethereal presence transcended that voids in our consciousness and embraced every aspect of human existence.  God walk, breathed, cried, laughed, hugged, taught, loved, and on and on, just as we do; and in doing so invited us to experience the intimate presence of God in our own everyday lives.  WOW!

If you're feeling overwhelmed by the secualarly-pagan-comercialized  stuff of marketers, sales bulletins, cheep radio songs, and shallow consumerism, then I suggest you hook up with a Christian church, any church, and refresh you soul with the godly peace that passes all other understandings.  And of course, if you don't have a church near you that fits your needs, I encourage you to drive over the the Legion Hall in Granby and give us a try.  At the very least, you'll have taken a break from the stupidity that accosts during December, and find some rest for your soul.

I look forward to a season with you that is truly one of Holy Days!
