October 30, 2006 We learn a lot on our prayer tours. I cannot recall of a time when we have not finished a tour of the mission field and not have had a question answered, some now insight gained, or a renewed sense of hope emerge. If you haven't been with us, think about getting with this program. It exceeds anything you thought church could be. In fact that is a great deal of what we are emerging as. We are finding that as let God gather the new community the familiar, stayed and predictable forms really have become sort of stale in light of the vibrant energy that percolates with new encounters from new experiences with the holy. I don't know why so many are so comfortable with the same way of doing the same thing. It seems as if it would be boring, especially when so much growth, vitality, enthusiasm, healing, ideas, answers, perceptions, awareness, and hope permeates our being when we let God led us in a new experience. We cannot grow as people of God if we are only content with the practices we learned long ago, but stopped there. To grow deeper in God, we must, MUST, be willing to stretch our horizons into new avenues of knowledge and experience. I offer two ideas for you: the prayer tours and Companions in Christ bible study. It's worth the trip. You won't regret it. Blessings and Peace, John Mark |
