Home Up Worship News Prayer Meetings From the Pastor Who Are We? Building Progress Connecting Feedback

August 22, 2006

This journey is precarious, but ever faithful.  I cannot list all the hours that have been laced with uncertainty of where I am going or questions about the correctness of the path I am on.  I cannot image anyone feeling differently.  It seems to be part of life.

I guess that if we had all the knowledge of the appropriateness of one decision over another, or knew without question what the next breath would bring, life would not be a matter of faith.  It would be a resignation to certainty; almost fatalistic.

Galatians 5:5,  "by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope," is certainly the way we live.  It become kind of exciting, doesn't it?   Sure life has its down times, just as it does its outrageous times of surprise. But all-in-all, it's really a grand adventure.

We keep plugging away at planting a new Christian presence here in the Pioneer Valley.  To date the journey has seen barriers overcome (funding delays, non-development covenants, the passing of key leaders, to name a few), but each has been met with merciful surprise as we have rudged through the trenches of trouble (unannounced bequests, networks to all the way to the governor's office, new members for the launch team, respectively).  It's a rich adventure that demands rich faith.

I just wonder if being part of this project is an unusual opportunity to see faith work wonders, and heighten in our consciousness the ever-present power of the Lord.

Hey, see you Sunday!
