Pastor Rodkey joined us in 2003 to lead the planting of a new
church in the Pioneer Valley. He began this ministry following twenty years of pastoral service in
Michigan, New Jersey and Vermont. The New England Conservatory gave him a foundation
in cello, the classics, performing arts and music. Boston
University became his undergraduate alma mater, and graduate
studies continued at McCormick Seminary in Chicago (M.Div.),
Andover Newton (S.S), Harvard Divinity and the Besson Institute
of Asbury Seminary in Lexington, KY.
As he likes to remind us,
academic accomplishments mean little in the Kingdom work of God
if not accompanied by a heart and soul for our Lord.
His presence constantly challenges us
to go a step further for God and meet new opportunities, new
members and new faith.
"It's a blessing to be part of this project and to see such
great faith grow among the church. For all my foibles and
faults, I find we can struggle together on this pilgrimage of
life, and together be the richer for it. Christ Jesus
really does give us a new lease of life. I certainly hope
you will feel moved to join us on this journey and find your own
spirit lifted higher." JMR
